Deep crimson at the core, the edges of this wine are taking on brown hues. Its nose is attractive and layered with milk chocolate, popping-with-ripeness mulberries and pithy pomegranate seeds. Rather glutonous in extract, sumptuous oak flavors and effusively ripe fruit, there is balance overall thanks to the somewhat gritty tannins. This has held on well, but with only medium concentration and a moderate finish, it’s not one to bet on for the long haul. Drink now–2018.
