Burge Family Wines 2019 Wilsford
Tempranillo (Barossa Valley)
|
Sporting oodles of mulberries—fresh and drying—on the nose and palate, this wine’s generous succulence and sweet spices makes it very easygoing. Rounded tannins, a creamy midpalate and very modest but nonetheless lifting acidity give this a wholesome core. There is a burn to the alcoholic warmth. This should, however, work fine with hearty, meaty dishes. The lingering, lightly minerally finish shows some fallen autumn leaves and dried fruit character, suggesting this wine has seen a few years in bottle. Drink now–2025.
