Pinot Gris (South Australia)

Incredibly pale yellow in color, with a water-white rim, this wine smells about as anemic as it looks. It offers aromas of white grapefruit and white peppercorn, with a strong underlying presence of earth. Yellow plum and Asian pear pop on the palate, which is more dynamic than the nose. There’s a hint of lemon curd toward the moderate finish. The acidity is a bit jolting, but otherwise it’s a pleasant sipper. Drink now–2022.
