Château Vessière 2012 Philippe de Vessière
Rhône-style Red Blend (Costières de Nîmes)
|
A medium-deep scarlet color, with a fairly broad, pomegranate-colored rim, this wine has a fresh, pure and dynamic nose of lavender, wild flowers and forest berries. Impressively savory on the palate, with damp earth, touches of spice, Marasca cherries and balsamic, this is a highly engaging wine. There’s no obvious oak and there’s only a touch of baby fat to give this wine some cuddly roundness to meld with its suave tannins. Bright, mouthwatering acidity keeps everything in line. It drinks well now but has a ways to go thanks to its layered nuances and generous fruit intensity. Enjoy through 2019.
