This wine smells of just-picked summer fruits, it’s easy-going on the light-bodied palate that offers a wild assortment of cherries, pomegranate arils, rhubarb and kirsch. The drizzle-soft tannins on the attack turn dry on the lingering finish, but there’s plenty of flavor to support the somewhat gravelly sensation. The final strains suggest some new oak aging through their notes of pancake syrup and whole-wheat toast. This drinks well now and has the feistiness to hold nicely for a few years more.
