Jean Louis Lhumeau 2016
Chenin Blanc (Anjou)
|
Deep gold in color, this wine smells
of wet wool, plump yellow raisin, honeycomb and honeysuckle. It is dry and
pithy on the palate, displaying lovely freshness. The fervently ripe flavors of golden raisin and pineapple persist on the palate, where they are accompanied by notes of toast and tarte Tatin. The lightly phenolic finish and considerable body make this a wine best enjoyed at the table rather than as an aperitif. Drinking well now, it’s hard to see if this would stand up to the long haul. It seems to be advancing quickly. Drink now–2021.
