Chateau de Lastours 2017
Rhône-style Red Blend (Corbières)
Moderately forward on the nose, this meaty red starts with game, mulberry and balsamic notes. The hearty palate is nicely balanced between the sleek tannins, highly integrated acidity and smooth, palate-coating glycerol. The wine shows good intensity of primary fruit flavors—especially baked blueberry and black cherry compote, layered in between its creamy, dense midpalate folds. The finish turns on some lightly tertiary notes of tobacco leaf and damp soil. Drink now–2024.
