Ferratus 2010
Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Inky black at the core with a small mulberry rim, this wine has a generous nose of game and mulberries. The palate is creamy and round, with solid weight but not overt alcohol. It’s easy on the tannins until the dry and somewhat sticky finish it might be challenging to get through more than a glass without food. Happily, the wine’s highly refreshing acidity does make it an excellent wine for the table. The finish is short and full of obvious, chocolatey oak influences, but many will enjoy this freshly fruited and forwardly oaky wine. Drink now through 2018.
