Massively inky at the core, this wine has a small, purple-laced rim. It is juicy, creamy and voluptuous at first, but then the bright acidity kicks in to give the wine some mouthwatering liveliness on the solid finish. Packed with flavor, there’s damp tree bark, grated nutmeg, sloe jam, blueberry and fresh fig. Despite its intensity in other areas, the medium body make this a highly drinkable wine that’s well suited to the American palate. Drink now through 2017.
