A blackberry color at the core, with a ripe cherry rim, this wine has an exotic nose leaning more towards tertiary than primary character. It is ungiving on the nose, but the palate opens into an interesting array of flavors—dried lavender, black plum, baking spice and dried fig. The palate has integrated and perfectly placed, laser-like acidity offset by rather creamy tannins. Ready to drink now, it’s decidedly tasty and may evolve to further benefit. Drink now through 2017.
