A creosote color at the core, this wine looks dense and brooding. It smells of balsamic and baked blueberry, and has a curious hint of sweet ketchup smacked with baking spice. Full bodied, with just-noticeable alcohol, there is an enormous exuberance. Fairly long on the finish, this wine isn’t just full-frontal on impact—it has nuanced flavors that evolve in the glass and suggest the wine will have some considerable longevity in the bottle. Enjoy this ion through 2019.
