Black-purple in color, this wine’s youthful appearance is slightly juxtaposed to its evolving nose of mashed brambly fruit, savory spice and beef bouillon. Flavors of black currants, loganberries and minerals add layers of interest. The palate is feisty, with vigorous acidity and pleasantly splintery tannins. If it is a bit rustic in structure, it is certainly sophisticated in flavor and a good match for those who like a little evolution to their wines. Drink now through 2017.
