Deeply colored from the core to the rim, the flavors are more apparently evolved, with fading bramble, leather and wet cigar wrapper. There is a juicy succulence, with lightly firm and structuring tannins as well as medium acidity. Moderate concentration fights to keep this bottling alive, despite the fact it is on its last legs. Drink up quickly or try a more recent vintage—the evolved flavors suggest there’s much to be desired in a younger wine.
