Midnight black at the core, with a magenta rim, the nose of this wine is reserved but smells of hot pavement and ripe black plum. The palate brings on some exotic baking-spice notes as well as a sweet cream-like texture. The midpalate is dense and direct, offering very little breadth, while the tannins are strapping and slightly rustic in the most compelling of ways. Overall, there is a lovely balance, nice flavor density and some ability to age further to benefit. Drink now through 2018.
