Deep black at the core, this wine has a brick-tinged, strawberry-colored rim. The nose offers hints of sweet spice and cola alongside a whiff of freshly peeled vanilla bean. The wine is definitely evolving on the palate, however, its medium finish of lightly dried fruit suggests it may be reaching its peak expression. It’s drinking well now, and its old-school style suggests this peak may last for a few years before tapering off quickly. Drink now through 2017.
