The wine boasts an opaque, black-burgundy core. The youthful, open and multidimensional nose boasts black-currant leaf, anise and graphite. The dry attack is softened by the wine’s vaguely liqueur-like, lightly viscous palate. A weighty midpalate, rounded tannins and pronounced alcohol result in a mouth-coating wine. Given the generosity of flavors, the medium-length finish is slightly disappointing—it seemed to promise more. Drink now–2015.
