Deep and slightly murky black core. The nose is spicy, sappy and pungent, with scents of fig, prune and thyme. Predominantly youthful flavors are accented by a touch of saddle leather. The full body is kept in line by dusty tannins and moderate acidity. The finish is short but reveals notes of chocolate and baking spice. Drink now–2014. A good representation of the appellation in a decidedly Old World style.
