Inky ruby to black in color. Masculine scents of creosote, tar, game and blackberry liqueur are softened by an undercurrent of fresh rosemary. Black cherry and plum engage the palate. Medium in body with balanced alcohol, the wine comes across bigger than it is given its rustic, rather drying tannins that are emphasized by its moderate acidity. The youthfulness of the fruit suggests this wine can hold 3-4 years, with some beneficial evolution. It’s not entirely clean, but its faint rusticity is becoming.
