This wine’s deep black core has a murky appearance with crimson lacing. The nose is restrained, save its strong mineral streaks, but prune notes surface with time. The palate shows more mature notes of old leather and iodine. The tannins are streamlined but mouth-stripping. The full body and high alcohol are well supported by moderately intense acidity that cleanses the palate nicely. No need to wait as this is maturing quickly, and should be enjoyed before 2017.
