Slightly murky in appearance, this wine has serious black gradations and a deep ruby rim. The nose is showing lots of dry barbecue-spice rub, well-aged cigar, old leather, dried mulberry and bitter cherry. Development is quickly advancing. Medium-plus in body, with pleasantly bitter tannins accentuated by bright acidity, this wine is best for red-meat protein. The high alcohol is well integrated, so this wine leaves no heaviness on the palate. The finish is medium and pleasant. Drink now through 2016.
