The deep black core segues to a pronounced raspberry rim. The nose is mineral driven, with reticent notes of blackberry, blueberry and tar. The nervous acidity is noticeably disjointed from the full body and pronounced alcohol. Light touches of coffee and burned toast show up on the short finish. Clean fruit. Drink now–2014, given the wine’s short finish and moderate concentration.
