Dark and brooding in appearance, this wine has a beautiful, deep rose rim. The restrained aromas offer ink, iodine, dry-aged steak and blackberry. Medium-weight on the palate and boasting moderate alcohol, this wine has great balance. The tannins are suave and the acidity is discreet—both give the wine the right amount of structure without the taster noticing them. The palate is loaded with blueberries, fig paste and thyme. It should continue to improve drink now through 2018.
