Nearly impenetrable at the core, this black-colored wine has a mid-sized fuchsia rim. Aromatically generous, with aromas of dark chocolate-covered cherries, caramel, soy and a whiff of cola, this wine’s flavors are equally charismatic, adding asphalt and sloe jam to the somewhat complicated equation. Although a touch drying, the tannins are gracefully sculpted into the wine. The acidity is perky, if a touch pronounced on the finish. This full-bodied wine has a moderate finish and should develop further. Drink through 2017.
