This deep-magenta wine, with black inflections, is magnanimous on the nose. It’s packed with blackberries, boysenberries, cola, grated cinnamon, licorice and cigar smoke. The palate is equally exuberant, adding vanilla extract and cherry cordial to its moderately complex mix. The tannins are discreet and the acidity is fresh. Though showing moderate concentration and a medium finish, the wine’s freshness is its most compelling feature. Drink now through 2016.
