This wine has a densely colored core infused with black. The nose sings of eucalyptus and menthol, lifting the aromas with a forest-like freshness. Casssis, blackberry and sage combine to create a bold and attractive nose. On the finish, leather and cigar aromas surface, suggesting this wine has some age on it. Still, it is far from tired with judiciously tugging tannins and juicy acidity to support it. Drink now through 2016, during which time some additional nuance is likely to surface.
