This wine is almost opaque with a charcoal hue at its core. Its nose is open and has a pleasant medicinal character. Pine, ginger, black cherry, iced tea, loganberry and Damson plum all chime in. The body shows some baby fat with its light viscosity. The acidity is pronounced, almost artificially so as it sticks out from the rest of the bottling. The tannins are rather round and pillowy, seemingly making up for the acidity’s harshness. The wine finishes medium in length, showing its stuffing and suggesting it should age well in the mid term. Drink 2013–2017.
