Nearly impenetrable in color, this wine’s nose is juicy and vibrant with blackberry and black currant aromas. The flavors burst across the palate with lovely purity. The finish is rather short given the intensity of the aromas and flavors. The exuberant aromatics can fool the enthusiastic drinker, making the wine seem easier or lighter than it is. In fact, it’s generous in alcohol, full in body and modest in extract. Its bright acidity lends energy and balance. Drink now–2016, though it may hold longer.
