A deep copper color with black core, this wine starts off closed and tight, with underlying berry notes alongside tar and slate. The palate transforms the experience with incredibly ripe flavors of prune and black raisin that linger through the long finish. The tannins are structuring and refined but in need of protein, and the acidity is well balanced, ready to provide refreshment during a substantial meal. Drink now–2020.
