The intense maroon core and light raspberry-colored rim suggest a young wine. The aromatic intensity is moderate, but the palate is densely flavored. However, the wine is not particularly complex, giving most of its excitement right up front and finishing short. It is a people-pleaser, and could be a good by-the-glass pour for casual restaurants, thanks to its full body, generous alcohol, soft tannins and balanced acidity.
