A bold wine in color and on the nose, this wine is quite youthful. Tobacco, licorice and asphalt focus the nose, followed by blackberry and black plum notes. The palate adds licorice and slate. This is a feisty bottling with rustic tannins, full body, balanced alcohol, mouthwatering acidity and a lingering finish. It’s a baby that needs time, and a good bit of it consider drinking 2015–2020, at the table with food.
