The ruby-inflected black color of this wine is near impenetrable in concentration. There’s an evident youthfulness, with notes of candied black cherries, cola, sweet spice, vanilla and flan creating an interesting array of candy-store aromas on the nose. The mid palate is pleasantly plump and medium bodied. The moderately concentrated flavors echo the nose and linger briefly on the finish. Discreet and fine-grained tannins work well with the vigorous acidity to provide a structural frame for the wine. The evident perception of sweetness should be popular amongst a value-driven red-wine crowd.
