This wine is a flushed and gleaming magenta color with a small, blue-inflected raspberry meniscus. The sappy aromas are brazenly youthful with a wide array of expressions from fresh black currants, sloe and boysenberry to dried leaves, gunpowder, musk and game. Mouthwatering acidity, lightly grainy tannins, medium body and a whisper of viscosity combine to create a pleasant harmony on the palate. With no clear new oak, this wine is vinous, energetic and satisfying on every front. If it is a value, it is a very big winner.
