This is a very pale, pink rosé with a water-white rim. The nose is thoroughly Old World with lots of mineral notes, especially crushed rocks and slate. The palate shows a modest concentration of strawberries, red cherries and rhubarb. The texture is smooth, and the acidity is medium and well balanced. The moderate body and medium-minus alcohol blend seamlessly. This is a very good choice for sipping on hot summer days and is subtle enough to suit a wide range of foods. As with most rosés, drink within one year, through early 2014.
