A deep crimson color with a brick hue extends from the core to the thin raspberry rim. Aromas of grilled game, iodine, savory spices, spruce, damp tea leaves and dried red plums leap from the glass, but the palate is slightly flat as the youthfulness of the fruit is fading. Still, the acidity is pleasantly mouthwatering, the palate is satisfyingly weighty and the tannins are finessed. The length is modest but tasty. Drink now to early 2015.
