Decisively opaque with a lifting fuchsia shade surfacing at the rim. The aromas and flavors harmonize from the start. Tar, asphalt, blackberry jam, black figs and cedar form the core profile. The palate is linear given the wine’s bright acidity and superfine, lightly crunchy tannins. The finish is short but the wine has broad appeal. A food wine for drinking now to late 2014.
