Definitely foreplay in a glass! On the nose, there is coffee, eucalyptus, tobacco, sandalwood, dried red plum, green bean, dark chocolate, Earl Grey tea and olive tapenade. The palate is just as intricate. Prominent tannins become more astringent as they linger. The progression of this wine is seamless, with the finish seeming to expand, rather than diminish on the palate. One could take a Bordeaux drinker to this wine. Drinkable now, but to show true potential, shelve eight to 10 years.
