This is a powerhouse. It is gutsy on the nose with strong savory spices, worn leather and black plum preserves. The palate tastes of dry-aged red meat and has a pronounced umami character, pointing to several years of age. The robust structure is framed by grippy tannins and balanced, lifting acidity. Chocolate and vanilla oak nuances surface on the hearty, layered and moderately long finish. Showing very well now, this is in its drinking prime.
