Pitch black from the core to the tiny cranberry-colored rim, this wine is moderately reticent in aromas. The palate boasts lots of roasted plum and berry fruit flavors that add a meaty, savory note along with old spice, all of which suggest some advancement, although the fruit remains robustly youthful. Entering its prime, this wine is incredibly pleasant to sip. Tannins are sweet and rounded and the acidity is well integrated. Menthol freshness comes through on the medium finish.
