A dynamo on the nose, this smells of blackberry, leather and Band-Aid. Though robust in fruit character with a generous full-body, the tannins are remarkably rounded and expansive. The acidity is rather demure and even verges on lax, but overall, the balance is nicely held. The flavors of forest fruit compote scented with menthol and cracked pepper lead to a dynamic, medium finish. This is an atypical blend that works nicely. Drink now–2025.
