Regal and rich on the nose, this is incredibly minty. Also swirling out of the glass are baking spice, cassis and plump black fig. The attack is heady with spice and high alcohol. Robust yet well-balanced thanks to grainy tannins neatly tugging at the sides of the palate and sassy acidity chiseling away at the back edges of the palate, this is nicely hemmed in. It needs time to sort out in bottle, so drink 2026–2034.
