Smelling like a mosh pit of ripe cherries and black plums, this wine starts with a wild, almost feral tone. In contrast, the flavors taste far leaner than the nose suggests with an underlying leafiness and dried clay notes, too. It is firm on the palate, not only in its youthfulness but also in its crisp tannins and bright acidity. The moderate body plays into that vigorous palatefeel, too, giving the structure a more obvious presence on the lightly drying finish. Drink now–2024.
