This wine’s nose is forward and compelling with savory meatiness, blackberries and peat. The robust, appealingly rustic palate adds strong umami tons. Full-bodied with lightly warm alcohol, broad but rounded tannins and subtle acidity, this has a line backer-like density. As it opens, autumnal aromas surface. Along with the mature tannins, this wine shows that it has gracefully come out of adolescence and is ready to be enjoyed. Drink now–2024.
