Deep magenta in color with black inflections, this has a persistently closed nose, even with 20 minutes in the glass. The predominating mulberry aromas are coupled with underpinnings of red currants. Medium bodied with very moderate extraction, finessed acidity, grainy but round tannins and a whiff of oak, this is a polished package that, thanks to the reasonable 13.6% alcohol, is very drinkable with or without food. The finish lingers several seconds. Drink now—2014.
