The densely colored core is streaked with black and the miniscule rim is deep purple. Intensely ripe black fruits are in store for the nose and palate. Deft use of oak shows up in the dark chocolate and coffee flavors, which complement the fruit very nicely. The tannins are slightly gangly, but not intrusive. The acidity is pleasantly buoyant and helps carry the wine to a medium-minus finish. This is a good value bottling with easy drinkability, especially with fairly hefty fare. Drink now to 2015.
