Boldly ripe on the nose, this wine smells of dried black currant, eucalyptus and amaro. The palate is equally fragrant and concentrated in richly ripe black fruits that include sloe and black plum, with accents of licorice, spruce and pencil ss. The structure is no less attention-catching. The tannins are firm and rugged while the acidity crackles with intensity. The mineral-laden, long finish shows this wine has a good life ahead.
