Bright and feisty on the forward nose in aromas of black currant, hard spice and underbrush, this wine tastes very much the same. This is a firm, vigorous, full-bodied wine with a strong backbone, and it is the acidity that creates the tension. The tannins are copious but thoroughly refined. The lingering, moderately dense finish brings on a strong but pleasant earthiness with iron and mineral tones. While bountifully youthful, this is drinking well now. Drink now–2024.
