Fragrant on the nose and palate in a resolutely spicy aspect, this is a dramatic wine with dense and compact fruit intensity and lavish new oak influence. The palate drips with resolutely ripe flavors of blackberries and black currants. While high in alcohol, this rich wine is nicely framed by tense but fully ripe tannins and reverberating acidity that gives it respectable refreshment. The spices persist on the lingering finish.
