Deeply colored and spicy on the nose and palate, this medium-bodied wine feels broad and dense. Nuances of cigar box, black cherry and violet surface with time in the glass. The acidity is counterbalanced by the somewhat brusque tannins. Tannins aside, there is an underlying elegance here. Though modest in length, the finish is showy with black plum and cracked peppercorn tones. Incredibly young, this seems to need more time to flesh out in bottle. Drink now–2026.
