Smelling of evergreen, cigar humidor and cassis, this is a powerful, showy Cabernet Sauvignon with classic aromatics for the variety. Alas, there is a slightly hollow midpalate that is distracting as well as only moderately concentrated flavors despite being a full-bodied wine. Still, the finish has decent length and adds in mineral components of complexity. Crisp, nippy tannins and well-balanced acidity deliver solid freshness and reliable drinkability, with or without a meal. Drink now–2023.
