This intensely colored red boasts an alluring nose of baked bricks, game and black currant. Lush on the first impression, the wine firms up quickly on the palate. Bracing acidity is prevalent, while the tannins are unusually scrawny. Still, the sum is greater than the parts, and this linebacker-style of wine should work perfectly well at a table set with hearty fare. It’s incredibly young, so give it a few months in bottle to settle down a bit. Drink from late 2021–2024.
